Born and raised in Florida, Logan Thompson has dedicated his career to public service, leadership, and the professional growth of others. His journey into law enforcement began shortly after high school, when he relocated to West Virginia to pursue his calling to serve. That commitment quickly set him apart—culminating in his appointment as the youngest police chief in the state of West Virginia, a distinction that speaks to his drive, discipline, and ability to lead from the front.

Since becoming a certified police officer in 2016, Logan has built a reputation for excellence in both operations and instruction. He has served for many years as a Field Training Officer (FTO), guiding new recruits and shaping the next generation of law enforcement professionals. Now serving with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, his dedication and leadership earned him promotion to Sergeant in 2025.

Logan’s extensive credentials reflect his deep commitment to high-quality, real-world training. He is one of four Level II (Train-the-Trainer) Instructors for the West Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards (LEPS) program and an FBI-Certified Instructor. He also holds instructor certifications with Axon for the Taser X26/X26P, Taser 7, and Taser 10 platforms, as well as Basic Life Support Instructor credentials through the American Heart Association, where he is working toward Faculty appointment. He holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

As Co-Founder and Director of Training for Mountaineer Public Safety Training Group LLC, Logan brings real-world experience, tactical expertise, and a passion for mentorship to every class. His training philosophy centers on discipline, accountability, and professionalism—developing officers and first responders who lead with competence, confidence, and integrity in every situation.
